O Come Rejoice

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is a 9th century Christian hymn that is traditionally sung during the Advent season leading up to Christmas. To me, it beautifully captures the anticipation and hope of the season. I designed this piece to reflect the traditional Advent wreath with its four candles that are lit in the weeks leading up to Christmas and the Christ candle that is lit on Christmas Day. The model is stitched on 46 count White Clay linen by Fox & Rabbit using Au Ver À Soie silks. I designed the piece to be finished as a pin drum. The model was finished using String Bean velveteen and Barn Door chenille trim, both by Lady Dot Creates. However, the piece would look lovely framed as well.
