House Rules

Communication is never an easy thing whether between friends, family, or (maybe especially) people on the internet. A few years ago, the leaders of our children’s youth group came up with these rules for communication among community members. Within a solid community, no question is out of bounds (ASK anything), listening is crucial (LISTEN well), group-think is discouraged (DISAGREE freely), and love is disentangled from politics and opinions (LOVE regardless). I think it’s brilliant—and wouldn’t it be great if more people approached discussions this way? As a stitcher, I decided to create a sampler to remind our family (and anyone who visits us) that this is how we do things here. And so I’m sharing our House Rules. I hope you enjoy stitching this as much as I have!
